Community engagement in challenging times focus of April 20 coffee hour

April 11, 2017

Join us for the next community engagement coffee hour, which will feature a discussion about how the current political climate is impacting community engagement and provide opportunities to connect with other CU Boulder staff, faculty and students.

Manuela Sifuentes, director of community partnerships for CU Engage, will facilitate the discussion on April 20 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the CU Museum of Natural History in the BioLounge on the lower level. The Office for Outreach and Engagement and CU Engage co-sponsor coffee hours on the third Thursday of each month to generate conversation about different community engagement topics.

“Some folks who were not as engaged before are now fired up, while others are being more selective in their engagement or activism,” said Sifuentes. “I'll be talking about my work in the community and will be interested to hear others talk about what they’re seeing so we can all learn from each other.”

CU Boulder faculty, staff and students are welcome, including those who are new to or experienced in community engagement. Attendees are welcome to drop in for five minutes or the whole time to connect with others and build community.

The conversation will continue this summer with community engagement events on June 15 and July 20.
