ALTEC (Anderson Language and Technology Center) Language Classes make non-credit language learning available to students, faculty and staff from all CU campuses along with adults worldwide during the fall, spring and summer terms. We are proud to offer a learning experience that is fun and engaging, affordable, and accommodates your busy life! Our semester classes run for 8 weeks with 20 hours of live instruction and are available in both on-campus and virtual formats.

We teach a variety of languages and levels, including less commonly taught languages not available otherwise on the CU Boulder campus. Learners can expect a highly flexible multimedia class that is supported by educational technology proven to provide an engaging language learning experience. Our expert faculty hail from CU, neighboring institutions and the local community, and excel at meeting our diverse learners’ needs.

ALTEC receives support from the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, which enables us to provide a tuition discount for CU affiliates (current faculty, staff and students). Visit us online for current pricing, languages offered and registration information.

All classes are non-credit with no tests and our students are highly motivated to learn the language for use in their profession, social life and travels. Learners are invited to engage in additional language opportunities through ALTEC, including our Language Corner, conversation tables and ongoing events. From the ability to converse with family and friends to increasing your memory plasticity, there are many reasons to learn languages and we hope you’ll let ALTEC guide your journey. Come learn languages and celebrate cultures with us!
