CU GOLD (Gaining Opportunities through Leadership Development) provides free leadership development opportunities to all CU students as a student lead entity under the Center for Student Involvement. We provide two tiers of free leadership training: our Core Leadership Program (CLP) and our Applied Leadership Program (ALP), as well as our Workshops In A Box program. Each of our leadership training programs also includes a retreat that allows participants to submerge themselves in a wide range of leadership activities. Advanced training includes an opportunity co-create service projects with local community organizations.

CLP is a semester long program training program. We cover topics like effective leadership, understanding leadership styles, conflict management, oppression and social equity, and coalition-building. CLP meets for an hour and a half each week for 10 weeks.

Students who have completed CLP may apply for the ALP. In this program, you will apply the skills you learned in CLP in your community and to your own personal life. ALP meets for an hour and a half each week for 10 weeks. All ALP participants engage in a community service project that directly benefits the Boulder community.

Our Workshops In A Box program provides free, on demand leadership curriculum to all CU clubs, organizations and academic departments. Workshop topics include time management, running effective meetings, and leadership skill development. Our goal is to help your group get organized, plan cohesive events, and retain membership.

If any of these programs are of interest to you, please complete this form. We will then contact you with more details regarding the application and interview process.

We look forward to hearing from you!
