The Coloradans and Our Shared Environment in Times of Challenge and Change art exhibition will be at the Sustainability, Energy and Environment Community (SEEC) building from Jan. 18 – Feb. 24, with an opening reception on Jan. 18, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
CU Boulder climate scientists and Colorado artists collaborated to create artworks that tell the story of how Coloradans are experiencing interrelated challenges of fires, drought, and water and air quality in their communities. The work of these Colorado Art Science Environment (CASE) Fellows was initially featured at the Colorado State Capitol last fall, and now the exhibition is touring the state.
Fellows Darya Warner and Suzanne Anderson (HydroEcologies, Unseen of the Front Range Urban Corridor) and Amy Hoagland and Tania Schoennagel (Reflecting on Wildfire in the Colorado Front Range) will give short talks during the reception, and other fellows will be present to discuss their projects.
The CU Boulder Office for Outreach and Engagement leads the CASE program in partnership with the Institute for Arctic and Alpine Research and the Boulder County Arts Alliance and with support from the Office for Faculty Affairs. The collaboration builds a basis for connection among scientists, artists and communities to support a collective approach to change issues throughout Colorado.
The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. Viewing hours are Mondays – Fridays, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. RSVPs for the reception are appreciated.
