CU Musical Performance Planned at Louisville Library Oct. 8

Although silence is often a virtue for library patrons, it will take a backseat on Saturday, Oct. 8 when the University of Colorado Boulder Opera Theatre Singers are scheduled to perform at 11 a.m. on the Louisville Public Library Plaza, 951 Spruce Street.

The show is free and open to the public, and it aims to entertain library regulars and farmers’ market foodies alike with a special musical performance on the steps of the library.

The CU-Boulder Opera Theatre Singers were founded in 2009 as the outreach group of the CU-Boulder Opera program. They share their love of music through performances of select pieces from the repertoire of opera, operetta, and musical theatre. These talented CU-Boulder students perform for schools, civic groups, and special events across the state. The CU Opera program was been designated a Program of Excellence by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.

The Oct. 8 event is part of a series called CU at the Library, which is jointly sponsored by the Louisville Public Library and the CU-Boulder Office for University Outreach. This program is one of many 2011-2012 programs offered through CU-Boulder partnerships with local libraries. For more information, visit http://conted.colorado.edu/library/
