CU on the Weekend will return this month with a fall series that will take audience members on a journey from Antarctica to Ancient Rome.
Professor Cassandra Brooks will share her experiences from research expeditions at the bottom of the world and her efforts to protect it. Attend Protecting Antarctica: Science, Diplomacy and Storytelling from the Bottom of the World on Saturday, September 23, and listen about how, beyond its extreme beauty, Antarctica also serves as a critically important global commons threatened by climate change and commercial fishing.
Join “The Beer Archaeologist” on Friday, November 3, for a special Homecoming edition of CU on the Weekend: Defining Beer in the Ancient World. Lecturer Travis Rupp will discuss the earliest archaeological evidence of beer and brewing, as well as how related terminology influenced social standing from the Late Roman period through later periods of European history and still shapes the terms and definitions we use for beer today.
All CU on the Weekend events are free and open to the public, with options to attend in person or virtually. Please go to the individual event pages for details.
