Take the Volunteer Resource Center’s Fifty for 50 Service Challenge

The Volunteer Resource Center is celebrating 50 years of engagement and action on the CU-Boulder campus. Over the past 50 years, the Volunteer Resource Center (VRC) has worked to create a culture of service and engagement within CU-Boulder and outside communities, and to connect students, staff and faculty to the larger issues that impact the communities they live in.

The VRC held a 50th anniversary celebration on Nov. 12 to kickoff for the VRC's Fifty for 50 Service Challenge. The VRC is issuing a service challenge to the CU-Boulder community that encourages students, staff and faculty to participate in 50 hours of service work in your community in the upcoming year.

All service is counted, including but not limited to: VRC events, CU-Boulder or community service events, any individual service with community partners, group service projects and court-mandated hours. Sign up for the service challenge.

Participants can sign up and log service hours via the webform. Participants get to set the timeline of when they would like to have completed 50 hours of service.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

  • The person who completes their 50 hours the fastest.
  • The person who completes the most hours overall.
  • The campus group that completes the most hours overall.

Later in spring 2016, toward the end of the challenge, the VRC will host an event in which everyone who participated will be recognized. Those who completed 50 hours will receive a certificate and T-shirt.

For more information, contact the VRC, stop by UMC 458, visit the VRC website or call 303-735-4496.
