The Revolution in Egypt: Causes and Consequences Symposium

The ongoing revolution in Egypt is likely to change the Middle East and possibly the entire world.  Why did it happen?  What are the possible outcomes?  How will it spread?  Four CU-Boulder scholars of the Middle East will present their interpretations of the dramatic events in Egypt and answer questions from the audience. The symposium will be held on Wednesday, February 16 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. in the Eaton Humanities Building, Room 1B50 and is free and open to the public. Symposium speakers will include Assistant Professor Haytham Bahoora from the Department of Asian Languages and Civilizations, Assistant Professor Nabil Echchaibi from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Assistant Professor Najeeb Jan from the Department of Geography, and Assistant Professor John Willis from the Department of History.

The symposium is sponsored by the CU Faculty Federation; CU Peace and Conflict Studies Program; Center for the Study of Conflict, Collaboration, and Creative Governance; Political Economy Group of the Department of Sociology; and Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center.
