February 3, 2017

A panel of outreach and engagement experts will share their experience in preparing meaningful programs for diverse communities as part of the spring 2017 Diversity & Inclusion Summit on campus.

The session will be held on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 12-1:15 p.m. in the University Memorial Center, room 425, and is hosted by the CU Boulder Outreach and Engagement Professionals Network (OEPN).

The panelists include: Satya Chavez, teaching artist with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival; Beth Osnes, associate professor with the Department of Theatre & Dance; Nicole Speer, director of operations with the Intermountain Neuroimaging Consortium; Hannah Wilks, director of the Volunteer Resource Center. Roudy Hildreth, associate faculty director with CU Engage, will moderate the session.

This panel of campus experts will share their field experience in preparing meaningful outreach programs and will address how they train their team to connect authentically with community partners and what strategies they use to create an enriching learning environment for all. The goal is to provide tools to help outreach staff and faculty strenghten their outreach and engagement work with diverse communities.

This session is part of the Spring 2017 Diversity and Inclusion Summit and is one of many sessions being held on that day.

OEPN was established in 2014 to enhance collaboration, share best practices, and increase professional development opportunities among CU Boulder staff and non-tenure track faculty who primarily serve a supportive role for advancing outreach and engagement programs and community partnerships.
