Register for Extreme Weather: Mitigation and Resiliency to Climate Change Webinar April 16

Join expert scientists online for the Climate Conversations Webinar, “Extreme Weather: Mitigation and Resiliency to Climate Change” on April 16 at 4:30 p.m.

Led by Kathleen Tierney, CU-Boulder director of the Natural Hazards Center and professor of sociology, and Kevin Trenberth, distinguished senior scientist in climate analysis at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, the webinar will discuss mitigation of extreme weather events resulting from climate change.

Participants will gain understanding about how to reduce the sources and causes of climate change and the use of data to understand extreme weather.

The webinar will address questions such as:
  • What are communities and governments doing now to prepare for extreme weather?
  • What should change in their approach to climate change adaptation and mitigation?
  • What more can the scientific community do to prepare citizens for climate-related extreme weather?
  • What are the greatest threats to vulnerable populations — those communities that are under-served (marginalized) and lacking resources to prepare or deal with extreme weather events?
