Outreach Award proposals due April 16

March 12, 2018

Faculty, does your research, teaching or creative work connect with communities around the state and beyond?

Apply by April 16 at 5 p.m. for a CU Boulder Outreach Award, which annually fund outreach and engagement work that meets public needs and interests.

Individual faculty applicants may request up to $9,000 for each project; interdisciplinary or interdepartmental faculty groups may request up to $24,000 for a single, collaborative outreach project.

Applicants are encouraged to review guidelines prior to applying.

The CU Boulder Outreach Committee, composed of faculty and staff from multiple academic disciplines, oversees the award process. Last year the committee awarded funds to 40 individual and interdisciplinary outreach and engagement projects that served communities, K-12 constituents and citizens with limited access to university programs.

Since 1999, more than 740 projects totaling nearly $5 million have been funded through the Office of the ChancellorOffice of the Provost and the Division of Continuing Education.

These projects must connect CU Boulder faculty-led research, creative work or teaching with community needs, interests and activities. Outreach and engagement is defined as the ways faculty, staff and students collaborate with external groups in mutually beneficial partnerships that are grounded in scholarship and consistent with the role and mission of a comprehensive, public research university.
