From dance day to kids coding, the 2015-2016 outreach awarded programs expand across disciplines and communities. This year, 38 programs were granted CU-Boulder Outreach and Engagement Awards for projects that extend faculty members' research, teaching, and creative work through mutually beneficial partnerships.
The CU-Boulder Outreach Committee, comprised of faculty and community members, oversees the award process. Programs received competitive funding thanks to contributions from the Office of the Chancellor, Office of the Provost, and the Division of Continuing Education.
“As the incoming Vice Provost for Outreach and Engagement, I am inspired by the breadth, depth, and creativity of this year’s awardees,” said Sara Thompson, dean of Continuing Education and vice provost for outreach and engagement. “The collaborative and interactive nature of these projects provides opportunities for meaningful connections between CU-Boulder and the citizens of Colorado — and furthers the mission of the University.”
