The Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) program works with elementary and middle school students in diverse classrooms to improve reading comprehension and content learning in science, social studies and language arts. Collaborative Strategic Reading teaches students to use comprehension strategies while working together. Strategies include previewing the text; providing ongoing feedback; getting the gist of the most important parts of the text; and wrapping up key ideas. The CSR program provides resources and professional development to support teachers and school leaders across Colorado districts. Participating districts include Boulder Valley School District, Adams 14 and Denver Public Schools. To learn more about the program and how to participate, visit our website or email Alison.Boardman@colorado.edu.
