To meet the demand for engineers globally while fulfilling its mission to serve Colorado students,  the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Engineering and Applied Science partners with Colorado Mesa University (CMU) and Western Colorado University (Western) to offer engineering degrees on the Western Slope of Colorado.

Through this partnership, students have the opportunity to complete their first two years as CMU or Western students and the balance of their education as CU Boulder students, all while remaining on their home campus in either Grand Junction or Gunnison, Colorado. Currently, Bachelor of Science degrees are available in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and electrical and computer engineering at CMU.  Mechanical engineering and computer science degrees are available at Western.

After a student’s first two years, the admission process for the partnership programs requires that the student meet certain academic requirements in order to matriculate into the CU Boulder coursework portion, resulting in the same degree and diploma as students on the Boulder campus.
