Engineering…because dreams need doing!

The Integrated Teaching and Learning (ITL) Program is part of the CU Boulder College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS). The ITL Pre-College Engineering Education Program collaborates with K-12 partners to build young learners’ understanding of the engineering design process and technical skills to spark interest in the next generation of engineers, especially students from underrepresented and underserved communities.

Through active community and campus partnerships, the ITLP Pre-College staff and student team engages K-12 students in a variety of innovative in-school workshops, after-school programs and engineering design summer camps.

Through in design-based hands-on activities, students learn that engineers are creative problem solvers who work in teams to create new things to improve society and that engineering is a fun and rewarding career.

In professional development workshops, teachers learn about the engineering design process and design thinking skills and how to incorporate them into their curricula and classrooms. They also learn that engineering is a career that all students can pursue to make a positive difference for our future.

  The Integrated Teaching and Learning (ITL) Pre-College Engineering Education Program aims to broaden participation and build career pathways in engineering for K-12 learners, especially underrepresented youth. In partnership with schools, community organizations, and CU Boulder programs, we provide authentic interactive engineering opportunities to develop students' interest and skills in STEM.
