From food and social justice to Holocaust memory and American history, the University of Colorado Boulder Peak to Peak series brings CU Boulder scholars into conversation with audiences across Colorado and beyond, to explore influential historical figures, events and enduring human questions.

As part of this year’s Peak to Peak series, we celebrated Professor Nick Underwood’s (Berger-Neilsen Chair of Judaic Studies and Assistant Professor of History at the College of Idaho) new book, Yiddish Paris: Staging Nation and Community in Interwar France (2022).

Dr. Underwood received his PhD in History (with endorsement in Jewish Studies) from CU Boulder in 2016. Prior to his current appointment, Underwood held postdocs at the University of Michigan and the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a member of the Digital Yiddish Theatre Project.

This series is made possible by funding from the CU Boulder Office for Outreach and Engagement Arts and Humanities Initiative; the Roser Visiting Artist Program in the College of Music; and the David Shneer Fund for Community Programming, Public Scholarship, and the Arts.

Program partners are the Office for Outreach and Engagement Arts and Humanities Initiative and communities and organizations across Colorado including: Corazón de Trinidad Creative DistrictTrinidad Carnegie Public Library, Western Colorado University Aspen Jewish CongregationBoulder JCC, and Temple Aaron in Trinidad.
